Jasper Brown is a Massachusetts born hip-hop artist raised in the Washington, D.C. area. Music has always been a passion of his and like many other artists; his musical journey began in the church choir. Jasper’s gift for singing was discovered at an early age and he quickly became a favorite young soloist at the D.C. church where his father pastors. Growing up in a Pastor’s home with 5 siblings during the emergence of music television, Jasper was exposed to much of the popular music of the 80’s, both Gospel and secular. As time went on he would become less interested in Gospel music and church in general while increasing in appreciation for R&B and Rap music. In high school, after being introduced by family and peers to many emerging hip-hop artists he began to fully immerse himself in the music and culture. It was at this time that he quietly began writing verses, unknowingly laying the foundation for what would later become his mission.
At age 27, the mission was set: Jasper’s renewed love for God and budding relationship with Him gave him the desire and courage to share his music. By this time his subject matter had grown from the frustrations of a young man finding himself into those of one filled with hope and understanding. The result of this transformation and a long-time dream is Jasper’s debut project, Accordingly.
