Carl Rushing was introduced to music at the age of four. With a rich classical background that influenced him greatly, Carl began making his first hip hop tracks by looping instrumental sections of popular songs using a dual cassette deck in 1989. He mastered various instruments, recording techniques and started to accumulate the technology to produce. By 2000, Carl started a record label and began promoting shows.

While trying to further his knowledge of studio composition, he soon realized the lack of accessible music education for creative studio musicians. He recognized that his own growth as a song writer was not encouraged. Carl immediately created a lesson plan to teach music production privately. He believed that helping other students of all ages and backgrounds to realize their creativity was an essential part of learning. His objective was to offer the type of education in studio composition he wished he had from the beginning, something which no other studio offered: teaching music production tailored to each student’s expertise and terms, with the latest and most accessible resources.

Since this turning point, Carl has taught over 100 beginners music production and encouraged many artists to take back music by helping them create studio quality demos and albums on their own personal computers. He has contributed production and vocals for Colombia Recording Artist Imani Copolla’s 1999 release, which has sold over 500,000 copies, and collaborated with artist J-Zone for his debut album. Since then, he has worked with artist Melodramatic, Deborah Bond and he has also spent 5 years creating custom music for both film scores and flash websites. Carl plans to move to a larger production facility in the next year and possibly start a second production education studio soon. He is an active member of both the Washington Area Music Association and the Songwriters of Washington.

"Carl Rushing teaches you the fundamentals that allow you to go from a person who enjoys music to a person who makes GOOD music. The information, the packaging and the one-on-one mentoring that he provides should cost thousands! I highly suggest taking on the challenge with studio music lessons if you are serious about music. "
Christopher "Cap Rich" Richardson, chairman, Audio Syndicate

"I was so impressed with the content of the course and Carl's overall professionalism that I decided to continue taking lessons beyond the five weeks. I have enjoyed working with Carl both as an instructor and as a collaborator. His patience and ability bring out the best in an aspiring music artist/producer. "
